This is a software tool that converts image based PDF files into editable documents.
mini Scanned PDF to XML OCR Converter is an easy to use scanned PDF conversion tool. Scanned images in the PDF files are converted into editable ASCII charter based documents. The converted and edited documents will be Word compatible. The layout of the original documents is maintained. There are several options that can be set by users. These include maintaining the original layout including images, alternately you can have a text only conversion. Output choices are Word compatible output or the rich-text format output. Next choice is about page ranges. You can choose to convert all the pages in the document or a selected range of pages. Besides these choices to be set, the main display area is set aside for setting up a batch list. If the original is password protected, you`ll need to supply the password.
The controls available to do this include adding files, remove files and when things have been completely messed up, a remove all control. A single click on the convert button will get the conversion done, You can decide to view the document as soon as conversion is completed. A progress bar will indicate how the progress is. Overall that interface is simple enough. The functionality offered is also quite simple. Basically it supplies OCR capability to scanned images that have been formatted as PDF pages. If you are planning to use this program, a trial is a must. Success of OCR depends on not only the quality of the images you have, but also the font used, if there is tilt in the images etc. So what results you get will depend on what your work environment is and thus try it out to find what kind of success rate you can expect.
